How anxiety feels
Anxiety and fears can be normal responses to situations in our daily lives; they alert us to dangers. This can become problematic when our response is out of proportion to what is causing us anxiety, or when we lose control over our responses, or perhaps our enjoyment of life is affected, for example by avoiding certain situations. Panic attacks involve a build up of overwhelming sensations (pounding heart, feeling faint, nausea, feeling you might die).

The best treatment approach
Cognitive behavioural hypnotherapy is one of the most successful treatment for anxiety. This involves evidence based cognitive behavioural approaches, combined with hypnosis. The BMJ, a respected medical publication, concluded that there is ‘good evidence’ that hypnosis and relaxation techniques can reduce anxiety and that hypnosis is effective in treating panic attack. My approach to addressing anxiety will draw from this knowledge to ensure you receive the best service.
